It is worth noting that most of our regular visitors get their car parked opposite the cottages on the first evening and leave it there for the whole week at no cost.
You can easily walk across the road to the beach and all the other attractions of Filey from your front door. All the shops you need are within a few hundred yards walk as well. A whole week without using your car if you want.
Filey seafront has unrestricted, free on street parking all along in front of the cottages (subject to the availability of spaces.) There is also free parking alongside the cottages up Cargate Hill. This is unrestricted during the Winter, September 30th to March 21st. In summer, March 21st to September 30th you can park on Cargate Hill from 6pm in the evening to 10am in the morning (i.e. overnight). There is no on-site off-street parking.
Most of our visitors unload alongside the cottages on Cargate Hill, (the central hill to Filey seafront) when they arrive.
In high season they then park the car on the seafront if they can find a place, if not they park it up in the town somewhere (most of Filey parking is unrestricted except the shopping area) or go to one of the 4 main pay and display car parks. The coble landing/ravine and the one behind the bus station are around a 5-minute walk away whereas West Avenue and the country park are around a 12-minute pleasant walk away along the sea front. Prices are around £5 for 4 hours. That first evening after 6pm they bring the car down and park it on Cargate Hill. They then move it to a space on the seafront when it becomes available as the day visitors leave. Many of our regulars then leave it there free for the week. Below is a map showing the main car parks should you need to use them.
Out of season our visitors usually park straight away opposite the cottages or leave it on Cargate Hill unless it is a busy day.
