We accept up to 2 well-behaved dogs only by arrangement at the time of booking. There is a £20 a week charge for each dog.

  • Dogs must not be allowed in bedrooms or on furniture or left barking.
  • They must not be left unattended in the cottage or the gardens. Please make sure your dog is not annoying other guests.
  • The garden is shared with the other cottages and the boundary is not dog proof. Large and small dogs could get out, so if your dog is lively and not very obedient, then maybe our cottages are not suitable for you.

There is free unlimited on street parking in front of the cottages (subject to availability). You can also park on parts of Cargate Hill at times (more restricted in summer). We do not have any off road parking. There is more information on our Filey parking page.

The cottages are similar to a normal two storey house.

  • They have a normal set of stairs with banister or handrails all the way on one side. There are also steps at most cottage doors.  All cottages have a single step inside somewhere in the cottage. 
  • There is a downstairs bedroom in Silverline with a downstairs ensuite (low step to access).
  • The door to the living room in Silverline is slightly narrower than the standard width.

It depends on what features are the most important to you.

  • Silverline has three bathrooms, Drifter has two.
  • Silverline has the larger kitchen with a dining table. Drifter has a compact kitchen.
  • Silverline has a downstairs ensuite. Drifter does not.
  • Drifter has the larger living room
  • Drifter has a front door onto the garden. Silverline’s is at the side.
  • Drifter’s third bedroom has bunk beds . Silverline’s has twin beds.

We have a 65Mb/s VDSL (fibre) connection which normally runs just below that and is shared across the two cottages and nobody else.

We have two modern fast Asus wireless routers and an extension wifi point, so a good signal can be accessed in all rooms.

We have tested the system  and three smart TVs, a laptop plus two mobile phones could all stream video at the same time. Of course like any IT system we cannot guarantee the connection, speed or compatibility.  However, we do realise that it is important and do our best to maintain a good connection. We also have spare routers which we can use should one fail.
